National Transport Compliance Lead (Wholesale)

 

We are currently recruiting for the position of National Transport Compliance Lead on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all transport operations comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards. The Transport Compliance Lead will oversee driver compliance, vehicle maintenance, and transport documentation, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Analyse transport data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvement strategies.

  • Implement and utilize transport management software to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate records of transport compliance activities and prepare regular reports.

  • Monitoring and maintaining records for drivers and fleet.

  • Regularly updating the WTD system, ensuring the data is up to date and accurate.

  • Providing various reports for transport department in a timely manner.

  • Carrying out any other formal duties in connection with Transport management requests

  • Ensuring Depot compliance with Road Transport Legislation and RSA.

  • Ensure regular depot transport compliance and internal compliance audits are undertaken across regions.

  • Assist and review all driver and vehicle related policies and procedures

  • Maintain and keep up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, i.e., safety, driver hours, tachograph etc. to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Advise drivers and staff on vehicle and legislative compliance.

  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external parties, including Fleet Maintenance & Service Department

  • Support with the onboarding and training of new drivers across the Network.

  • Liaise with transport providers to negotiate rates & service agreements.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Knowledge of Irish transport regulations and industry best practices

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transport or logistics compliance role

  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Previous experience gained in a similar role is preferred but not essential
