Team Leader – Permanent Full Time

Applications are invited for the positions of Team Leader in Value Centre Mullingar on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide support to the Cash & Carry Management Team to ensure the Value Centre operates in a professional, compliant, and profitable manner.

 

Key responsibilities of a Team Leader include:

  • Providing support in the absence of the Cash & Carry Manager/Assistant Manager, and to carry out any duties as required (including key holding responsibilities).

  • Communicate effectively with customers & staff ensuring queries are resolved efficiently & effectively.

  • The supervision, mentoring and training of new & existing staff.

  • Assisting and growing customer sales.

  • Attention to detail in all aspects – ensuring accurate, professional and speedy processing of customers’ orders.

  • Ensuring compliance with the Wholesale Standards Programme

  • Working in conjunction with Management in relation to effective replenishment and stock control in line with company procedures, whilst also ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs

  • Working in conjunction with Cash & Carry Management to ensure the branch is prepared for Quarter End activities

  • Ensuring security of Cash & Carry is maintained, protecting employees and stock

  • Ensuring the effective supervision of employees in the Value Centre, as directed

  • Contribute to the operation of the branch in a customer focused/friendly manner

  • Minimising expenditure and, where appropriate, assist with the management of overheads

  • To undertake any other activities as required in line with operational demands.

Job requirements

The successful Team Leader will:

  • Be a highly motivated self-starter

  • Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and suppliers in a professional manner

  • Have experience in a customer-facing role

  • Have experience of the licensed and/or grocery, catering trade

  • Have the ability to contribute to the management of day-to-day floor operation of the Cash & Carry, including staff, stock control, deliveries & merchandising

  • Be flexible with start / finish times and ensure operational demands are facilitated.

  • Have some understanding of HACCP

  • Experience in the Chill/Frozen sector is an advantage.
