Team Leader (Evening Shift), Value Centre Cork
Applications are invited for the position of Team Leader (Evening Shift), Value Centre Little Island, Cork.
BWG Foods owns and operates the SPAR, EUROSPAR, MACE, Londis and XL brands in the Republic of Ireland, working in partnership with independent retailers with more than 1,000 stores serving local communities right across the country. The stores serve in excess of one million shoppers every single day.
The wholesale division of BWG Foods also includes BWG Foodservice, Corrib Food Products and Williams Gate, as well as Value Centre and 4 Aces, our nationwide network of Cash and Carry branches.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will provide support to the Operations Manager in leading teams within the Chill and Freezer Wholesale Environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Team Leader include:
Providing support in the absence of the Operations Manager and to carry out any duties as required.
Assist the Operations Manager in monitoring and achieving Key Performance Indicators
Working in conjunction with Management in relation to effective replenishment and stock control in line with company procedures, whilst also ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs.
Assist management in the completion of stock takes.
Contributing to the effective date management and stock rotation to minimise food wastage within the branch.
Effectively managing and supporting colleagues within your team.
Contribute to the operation of the branch in a customer focused/friendly manner.
To undertake any activities as required in line with the operation by having flexibility in working hours + shifts, where applicable.
Ensuring all health and safety requirements are met and managed accordingly.
Job requirements
The successful Team Leader will:
Have previous IT experience.
Be a highly motivated self-starter.
Be able to work Monday to Thursday, working 39 hours over 4 shifts.
Allowance for premium Shift allowance.
Be able to work Sundays on rotation.
Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders in a professional manner.
Team Leading experience is advantageous.
Have experience of the FMCG, Wholesale and/or Retail trade within Chill and Freezer environments.
Have the ability to contribute to the management of day-to-day floor operation of the Cash & Carry, including staff, stock control, date rotations, deliveries & merchandising.
Possession of a reach truck license is desired but not essential.
Have some understanding of HACCP.
