Retail Technology Integrations Lead
The Retail Technology Integrations Lead is a hands-on and highly technical position focused on ensuring the seamless and successful integration of new and existing retail applications—such as Kiosks, Loyalty programs, and ESELs—with our core systems. In this role, you own and evolve the connectivity and integration roadmap supporting the retail technology ecosystem and act as the main technical contact for both external integration partners and internal development teams. You will need deep expertise in APIs, data mapping, and project management to turn key business strategies into scalable, dependable integrated solutions. Reporting directly to the Product Lead, Retail Technology, you’ll be the go-to technical authority. You'll collaborate closely within a cross-functional Retail Technology Team alongside colleagues in Product, Integrations, QA, and Deployment, all working together to build a unified EPOS and deliver the digital retail strategy for our customers.
A. Technical Integration Strategy & Architecture
Integration Ownership: Own the full technical lifecycle for all new retail technology integrations (e.g., Kiosks, Loyalty Apps, ESELs, Selfcheckouts etc).
Technical Design: Architect and document detailed technical specifications, including API requirements (REST, SOAP), data mapping, and integration endpoints for data flowing between external systems and the core environment.
Scalability & Health: Design and implement solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient, ensuring the stability of the core ePOS is maintained during high-volume integrations.
Data Flow Integrity: Define and monitor data integrity checks and validation processes to ensure the consistency and accuracy of information shared across systems.
B. Vendor & Dependency Management
External Vendor Leadership: Act as the primary technical point of contact and product leader for all integration vendors (e.g., Kiosk, Loyalty App, ESEL vendors). You will manage their technical scope, delivery timelines, and ensure integration milestones are met.
Core Product Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Product Lead and Field Team; translate their operational needs into clear technical API requests for the Core POS vendor and manage the technical prioritization of these critical enabler tasks.
Project Delivery: Utilize strong project management and Agile skills to drive concurrent integration projects from concept through to successful launch.
C. Testing, Deployment & Support
End-to-End Testing: Oversee integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases, collaborating with both internal and external QA teams to implement automated testing successfully and works with QA to design and implement automated testing.
Technical Troubleshooting: Provide advanced Level 3 technical support for complex integration issues and data anomalies, using tools like SQL queries and API logs to quickly diagnose and resolve problems.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integrations, including API specifications and runbooks.
Job requirements
Essential Qualifications
Technical Expertise: Proven experience as a, Technical Project Manager, Technical Product Manager or Integration Architect role.
Testing Automation experience : Proven experience of Test Automation skills and build process.
Integration Fluency: Expert-level understanding of APIs (REST, SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), and common integration patterns. Experience with middleware or enterprise service bus (ESB) technologies is highly desirable.
System Knowledge: Proficient in using SQL to query databases for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting technical issues.
Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent third-party technical vendor relationships and hold them accountable for technical deliverables.
Agile Experience: Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly in managing technical backlogs, defining scope, and overseeing sprints in a multi-vendor environment.
Retail Exposure (Desired): Familiarity with the retail technology landscape (POS, Back Office, Loyalty) is a plus, but strong technical and integration fundamentals are paramount.
