Retail - Technology - Advisor

We are seeking an individual who understands the realities of running a busy grocery retail operation and can confidently engage with retailers to support both operational and technology-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will be commercially focused, customer-centric and passionate about helping retailers improve their businesses through the effective use of technology and operational best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support retailers and store teams with day-to-day queries relating to retail technology and store systems.

• Build strong relationships with independent retailers and company-operated store teams to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Assist in the delivery of retail technology projects across areas such as EPOS, store networking, digital retail solutions and back-office systems.

• Coordinate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure stores receive effective and timely support.

• Act as a key contact between retail operations and technical teams, translating store requirements into practical business solutions.

• Support the implementation of new technologies, processes and initiatives within stores.

• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance and store productivity.

• Assist with training and supporting store personnel in the adoption of new systems and technologies.

• Participate in project planning, implementation and rollout activities across the retail estate.

• Develop and maintain operational procedures, user guides and support documentation.

• Contribute to business improvement initiatives that enhance retailer engagement and operational performance.

• Other projects as directed by management.

• Travel nationwide to support stores, projects and retailer engagement activities as required.

Skills & Experience

·        Extensive Management experience within grocery retail, convenience retail, FMCG or multi-site retail operations.

·        Understanding of Retail Technology, networking and overall IT.

·        Understanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to them.

·        Experience working with retail systems such as EPOS, self-service solutions, back-office systems or electronic ordering platforms.

·        Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership and project management.

·        Strong analytical skills, resolution management, organisational skills and excellent time keeping skills.

·        Strong verbal, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and to be able to report clearly back with updates to management.

·        Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative, ability to prioritize own workload and work to meet deadlines.

·        Innovative, authoritative, have the ability to communicate on all levels to people of all technical ability.

·        Flexibility and adaptable in the approach to customer/business needs.

·        Proactive and energetic in the work environment, seeking to get things done and deal with a variety of tasks and projects.

·        Must have a full clean driver’s license.
