National Transport Compliance Lead (Wholesale)
We are recruiting for a National Transport Compliance Supervisor on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Operations Development Manager, the successful candidate will lead fleet compliance, transport systems, fleet performance and continuous improvement initiatives across the Value Centre network, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the national fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all Road Transport legislation, RSA requirements, EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive (WTD) and company transport policies.
Manage national fleet compliance, ensuring all vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
Monitor driver compliance, including drivers’ hours, tachograph analysis, Working Time Directive records, CPC, licence and tachograph card validity, investigating infringements and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct transport compliance audits across the depot network, ensuring consistent standards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Produce and analyse transport, fleet and compliance data, developing management reports and KPIs to monitor operational performance, investigating anomalies & improving efficiency where possible.
Implement and utilize transport management software to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage and monitor transport systems including the VITA delivery management system, ensuring delivery windows, routing performance and electronic proof of delivery processes are maintained and continuously improved.
Maintain accurate fleet and driver records while producing regular compliance and performance reports for senior management.
Deliver compliance training and support the onboarding of drivers and transport teams.
Build strong working relationships with depot management, fleet maintenance providers, suppliers and external transport partners, conducting site visits where appropriate.
Support procurement activities, supplier performance reviews and transport contract negotiations.
Lead fleet and transport improvement projects that enhance safety, customer service, operational efficiency and sustainability.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
Job requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Knowledge of Irish transport regulations and industry best practices
Extensive experience required in a transport, logistics or compliance role
Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
Good knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook
Previous experience gained in a similar role is preferred but not essential
