Junior Security Governance

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join BWG Foods in a Junior Security Governance role. This position will support the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s security posture and contribute to compliance with established security frameworks. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in information security governance within a dynamic organisation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the tracking and monitoring of operational security KPIs, SLAs, and related metrics.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of IT security policies, standards, and guidelines, aligned with industry best practices.

  • Help promote the effective implementation of security policies and standards across the organisation.

  • Contribute to benchmarking activities against security frameworks such as NIST and other relevant standards.

  • Support visibility and reporting of IT initiatives that enhance the company’s security posture.

  • Liaise with managed security partners to understand their role in supporting BWG Foods’ security objectives.

  • Assist in maintaining centralized risk registers and supporting risk reporting activities.

  • Contribute to the preparation of security reports for management and stakeholders.

  • Support third-party risk management activities, including engagement with external vendors regarding their security posture.

  • Participate in the review and design of new technology solutions to help ensure security requirements are implemented.

  • Support the delivery and coordination of security awareness initiatives across the business.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help integrate security considerations into projects and business processes.

  • Align with Security Impact Assessments (SIA) and support coordination with the DPO where Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) are required.

  • Contribute to post-incident reviews and support the implementation of agreed “lessons learned” actions

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of information security, governance, and risk management.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) is desirable.

 

Advantages:

  • Relevant certifications such as GCCC, CCSP, CISSP, CISM or similar are highly preferred.
