Goods In Operative – Permanent Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a Goods in Operative role on a Permanent Full-Time basis in Value Centre Cavan.

BWG Foods owns and operates the SPAR, EUROSPAR, MACE, Londis and XL brands in the Republic of Ireland, working in partnership with independent retailers with more than 1,000 stores serving local communities right across the country. The stores serve in excess of one million shoppers every single day.

The wholesale division of BWG Foods also includes BWG Foodservice, Corrib Food Products and Williams Gate, as well as Value Centre and 4 Aces, our nationwide network of Cash and Carry branches.

Key responsibilities of the Goods In Operative role include:

 

·       Manage the receipt of all incoming goods, utilising in-house computer system

·       Accuracy and attention to deal is a key requirement

·       Stock control duties – Rotation & Stocktakes

·       Process stock returns, damaged stock and out of date products

·       Maintaining the area and keeping it clean and tidy

·       Assisting customers

·       Ensuring all required paperwork and administration is completed and up to date

·       Ensuring compliance with all Food Safety, Health & Safety and Security requirements

·       Other associated duties as requested by your manager

Job requirements

The successful Goods In Operative should have:

·       Good organisational and time management abilities

·       Be a highly motivated individual, who takes initiative with minimal supervision

·       Be dedicated and flexible

·       Have experience working in a warehouse and/or goods-in environment

·       Have Reach and Counterbalance forklift driving experience and hold an up-to-date operator’s certificate preferred but not essential

  • A professional approach to their work and dealing with colleagues, management, and business partners

  • The ability to work with and adhere to standard operating procedures

  • A strong awareness of health and safety & food safety requirements
